Can anyone explain how Roland vdrums are dated by their serial number? I have found that their are 5 types. Type IV is from March89 to Oct, 2010 and is configured this way: AR 46514. Type V is configured A5A 3082. Type 5 goes from Nov. 2010 to the present. How in the world can you decipher what this means? From what I have found, you have to count from A0 as March of 1989 and go up from there (A0=March; A1=April; A2=May, etc.) on up through 2013. Is there anywhere to get a list showing what the letters and numbers mean? Some of these Roland vdrums are being sold as newer than they really are and w/o dating the serial number, it's hard to tell. Can anyone explain how Roland vdrums are dated by their serial number?
